BCATA and CSEA/SCÉA invite you to participate in Intersections 2016
Dear Conference Partners,
The BC Art Teachers' Association (BCATA) and The Canadian Society for Education through Art/Société canadienne d’éducation par l’art (CSEA/SCÉA) invites you to join us at Intersections 2016 in the beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia. This provincial and national conference, promises to bring together some of the most creative educators from all across Canada and focuses on convergence in multiple medias, classroom subjects and diverse cultures and communities. The conference will take place October 20-22, 2016 on campus at the University of Victoria.
During this two day event, artists and art educators will share their knowledge, ideas, and experiences through a variety of sessions, including:
Best practices for the classroom
Art Educators from across Canada
Focus on new curriculum directions
Art Education Graduate student symposium on emerging research
Friday night reception at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
Saturday studio tours & sessions
We are excited to announce that Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas, award-winning visual contemporary artist, author and professional speaker is providing our opening keynote. His work has been seen in public spaces, museums, galleries and private collections across the globe. Institutional collections include the British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Seattle Art Museum and Vancouver Art Gallery.
This year there are some terrific advertising and marketplace opportunities available to you. There are possibilities for website advertising on both the BCATA and CSEA/SCÉA websites for a full year. Marketplace booths will be set up in a highly visible and busy corridor in the MacLauren Building at the University of Victoria, and will be easily accessible to Conference participants as well as all university students and faculty in the Faculty of Education and Fine Arts.
